Students in a chemical engineering class at West Virginia University Institute of Technology toured the Belle Chemical plant. The class is made of junior and senior students who are participating in two capstone research projects for Belle Chemical, which includes looking at how to implement a dimethylethanolamine process from DMA and the production of biodiesel to produce greener acrylonitrile.
Belle volunteers led students through the production process of amines and amides. This is part of the semester-long collaboration with the WVU Tech Chemical Engineering Department and Belle Chemical.
